On Sept. 13, Notre Dame RecSports held a yoga class among paintings and sculptures in the Snite Museum of Art.

The class was originally scheduled to take place in the Snite Museum Courtyard but was moved inside due to inclement weather.

The new workout class series, called SatAWAY, provides free fitness classes to students, faculty and staff on away football Saturdays. These classes give participants a chance to make the most of Saturday mornings that would usually be filled with tailgating and football preparation. The classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and require no preregistration, making them a convenient way to get a workout well before any football game watches.

“I’m so glad that RecSports decided to add these fitness classes…it’s kind of fun to try new things in interesting places, and I don’t have to worry about missing anything on football Saturdays,” freshman Phoebe Natale says.

The current class offerings include outdoor yoga in the Snite Museum Courtyard, Bootcamp on the lawn outside of the Jordan Hall of Science, outdoor BooYo (bootcamp and yoga) in the Rolfs Recreation Center and cycling circuit classes in the Rockne Memorial gym. A Notre Dame ID is required to participate, and people of all ages and athletic abilities are welcome.
