Take the Reins of Your NutritionA BURST OF FLAVOR Rein Juicery offers students a unique juice experience.

Rein Juicery’s bright green building fits the atmosphere of its business well. Serving fresh and local organic juices, smoothies and cleanses, the three Anglemeyer brothers welcome their customers with a friendly air characteristic of a family business.

Scott, Todd and Nick Anglemeyer are brothers originally from Nappanee, Indiana who combined their entrepreneurial initiative to open Rein Juicery in 2014. Scott had a background in the organic industry and Todd and Nick were both interested in starting their own business.

Scott creates the menu, which is filled with unusual, yet delicious flavor combinations. The “OC” is one of the most popular smoothies Rein serves, made of banana, kale, peanut butter, raw honey, raw cacao and vanilla. The flavor is sweet and rich, almost like a milkshake, yet still fresh. The “Sunrise” smoothie features pineapple, ginger, banana, cinnamon and honey. Deliciously and liberally spiced, it is unlike any smoothie I’ve previously tasted. The “Tenny” showcases pineapple, mango, banana, avocado, kale, raw honey and bee pollen (which is good for allergies). This drink had more of a classic vegetable and fruit smoothie taste: less rich, a little sweet and very fresh.

All of the juices are made using local, organic ingredients that are cold pressed in the store. This simple process consists of first grinding up the ingredients into small pieces then putting them into a juicer which uses high pressure to turn it into juice.

Rein, the German word for “pure,” also serves both hot and cold press coffee from the local fair trade roaster, Zen Coffee.

Prices run in the $6-10 range, but Rein has a student special through Dec. 1 which allows students to get 15% off their purchase with a student ID and 25% off if students bring their friends.

Only a ten minute walk from campus (across from Martin’s), Rein Juicery is close enough to stop by after class. Check out their website to see all their flavor combinations: http://www.reinjuice.com/.
