Innovation, challenge and action: these three attributes drive the progress of daily life here at Notre Dame. We see these attributes reflected in each and every student here at Notre Dame. It is time to join the conversation and demonstrate all that we can achieve as one community.

Each of you has something to contribute, and an active dialogue of ideas can only improve our community.

While student government has ideas on ways to improve life here at Notre Dame, there is no better way to represent the student body than by celebrating the ideas that each individual has to bring and working together to develop solutions to pressing campus issues. This is the purpose of our launch of the Onward online forum.

Onward is live at studentgovernment.nd.edu! Join the conversation as every student begins to generate new ideas on real issues brought to us by our community’s members. We believe in the strength of dialogue and the importance of student voice as we look forward to the positive changes we will accomplish together.

Our belief in the impact every student can have is also why we invite all to join in a proactive effort to change the conversation around mental health. This month, we choose to focus our efforts through Irish State of Mind Week and launching the Just Ask campaign.

It is time for us to move beyond awareness, and it is our duty as the Notre Dame family to look out for and support our peers when they are under stress and living with mental illness. With the Just Ask campaign, we emphasize the simple and critical daily actions we can perform to create a supportive and safe environment for every member of our community.

It is through our continuous, daily efforts that we encourage all to take ownership of our responsibilities to our beloved community. Join the conversation. It’s time to be the difference.
