6 The Irish hockey team’s ranking in the latest poll, released by USA Today and USA Hockey Magazine. The Irish won three of their first four games in 2016, but have since lost to and tied with Penn State before earning a split with Connecticut, which dropped them two spots from fourth to their current position.

4 The number of NCAA Championship titles held by track and field athlete Molly Seidel. Seidel, of Hartland, Wis., recently announced her decision to return to Notre Dame for her final season of eligibility at the college level. The 2016 winner of the Mary Garber Award winner for the top female athlete in the ACC, she became the first individual track and field national champion in the Irish women’s program history. Seidel is one of just three Notre Dame student-athletes to win four national championships in any sport.

274 The number of points scored by the Notre Dame’s women’s swim team during the first dual ACC meet against Georgia Tech on Oct. 22. The women won 274-79, and the men won 181-172, allowing the Irish to continue their undefeated season. Notre Dame will head to Pittsburgh to compete against Pitt and Virginia Tech this weekend, and finish out the season with the Greensboro Invitational in North Carolina, Nov. 17 to 19.

12 The number of Notre Dame graduates who competed in the Rio Olympics in August. Six returned to campus and were recognized at the Notre Dame-Stanford home football game on Oct. 15. An additional six Notre Dame graduates competed in the Olympics but were unable to make it to campus for the game.
