Tailgating is one of the things Notre Dame students love most about football Saturdays. But for those of us who don’t know anyone hosting a tailgate, what is there to do before kickoff? These are a few of the fun things to see and do on campus before every home game:

1. Stadium Tunnel Tours: There are free tours of the famous tunnel to the football field on home game days. Tours are available all day.

2. The Glee Club: Two and a half hours before kickoff, the Glee Club gives a free performance at the Hesburgh Library Reflecting Pool. (Don’t be surprised if you also see some men from Sted’s in the Reflecting Pool wearing floaties for the traditional “Sted’s Float”).

3. The Marching Band: An hour and a half before the game starts, head over to Bond Quad to get in the spirit while the band plays the alma mater, fight song and other Notre Dame classics. Forty-five minutes before the game, spectators can walk with the band, cheerleaders and leprechaun as they head from Main Building to Notre Dame Stadium.

4. Knights of Columbus Steak Sale: The Knights of Columbus sell steak sandwiches before home games at their building next to the Coleman-Morse Center. It’s one of the most popular concession stands and smells amazing even from the other side of South Quad.
